*Open Sat. 8/31/24 1-4pm* In 1950, Charlie built Minnie a new 1-level home with hardwood floors, fireplace and mantle, indoor plumbing and electric washer and dryer hook up. The property he completed with a detached 2- car garage, barns, and outbuildings. When Charlie passed, Minnie sold to Bob and Rhea. The Wire’s were their neighbors. Over the years they enjoyed their hobby farm. They raised large gardens, Grapes, Fruit trees, hay, cane berries, and many garden starts and flowers including peonies. They canned produce, made fruit juices and preserves, grew a small batch of Christmas trees, had a small assortment of dogs, cats, cattle, chickens, ducks and horses. The property had plenty of room for woodworking, tractor restoring, rock polishing, hobbies of many kinds as well as storage for Recreational Vehicles, Boats, Canoes, Kayaks, as well as Fishing, Camping and Travel Gear. They raised their children who then provided them with grandchildren to visit the property and join in adventures building forts in the woods, hay hauling and playing in the sandbox. Then as time passed, there were great grandchildren. They enjoyed hosting small and large groups of friends and family, hosting reunions, general gatherings and co-worker dinners. They watched the sunrises over the cascades, cut fire wood and made lumber from the trees growing on the property. They enjoyed views of the Mt. St. Helens eruption and the annual 4th of July fireworks from many directions as well as the early morning hot air balloons sightings. During their ownership, they bought the adjoining parcel from the Greenman’s. It had more pasture, timber and a tributary of Bear Creek. Room for both domestic and Wildlife to reside. This addition added even more area for evening walks and morning strolls. Now this 31+/- acre property is for sale after 51 years..... |
