Crystal-clear creeks flow from the western mountains and hillsides, cascading down over rocks and creating mesmerizing sounds and picturesque scenery. This ranch is literally home, especially through fall, winter, and spring to a large resident elk herd. The ranch consistently hosts a year-round variety of wildlife, including white-tail and mule deer, moose, elk, wolves, mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, lynx, black and grizzly bears, snowshoe hares, numerous ground and tree squirrels, flying squirrels, pine martens, beavers, otters, muskrats, geese, ducks, swans, sandhill cranes, grouse, raptors, bald and golden eagles, hawks, ravens, and songbirds. The North Fork Valley, home to this ranch, is known for its unique mixture and a huge variety of wildlife plus its very limited private land ownership

Secluded and off-grid, yet despite the seclusion, the ranch is accessed via a paved and gravel County Road. Log rail fencing accompanied by multiple gates and ATV fence openings, allows easy movement through the ranch while keeping others out. The main ranch headquarters comes with an array of structures perfect for comfortable wilderness living or ranch operations. On the property, you'll find a primary log home, two original homestead cabins, three guest or ranch hand log cabins, a shop, a spacious pole barn for equipment or hay storage, and an additional barn for hay and horses. In a separate location on the ranch, there's a caretaker's log home paired with a small cabin, workshop, and various outbuildings. Near the main river resides a cozy cabin, garage, and storage buildings.

The ranch has three areas with two different conservation easements and a fourth area with no conservation easements. The largest conservation easement is with the Nature Conservancy and covers approximately 1,052 acres with a less restricted 20-acre residential area centrally located where the main ranch headquarters are situated. The conservation easement does allow for running cattle, horses, other animals, haying, logging, and other ranch-type operations. Inside the residential area are limited commercial and non-commercial recreational uses, rental, and new buildings allowed. The other two conservation areas are with the Forest Service and are located by the river and cover approximately 514 acres. The remaining 440+ acres are divided into four parcels and extend from the river on the north side, down through the ranch on the eastern side, nearly to the southern boundary. There are no covenants on these parcels either. The whole ranch is located within the North Fork Zoning district of Flathead County.
